Cheaper Crucial MX100 or more expensive Samsung 840 EVO?

P.s. 120gb really isn't that big though...so 250gb might be a good idea.

I can get the Crucial for £47 (120GB) and the Samsung EVO 840 (120GB) for £61. Is it worth the extra money in terms of price/performance?

 

SSD will be used for games and video files.

 

I could also get Crucial MX100 250GB for £77 and the Samsung EVO 840 250GB for £90 but I would PREFER not to spend that much.

honestly spend £77 and get the 250gb version

The Samsung is a bit faster but the Crucial is usually good enough.

But I would spend a bit extra and get a 250gb model.

if you want to save then mx100 is great

MX100, for general use overly-fast SSD's  don't really give much benefit

MX100 is better for it's cost!

 

Here is the benchmark between MX100 and 840 evo.

 

It may help you decide.

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz - Intel Stock Cooler - Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

well the 250GB crucial is porbably faster than the 120GB EVO ;)

With same capacity they are about the same (i.e. the difference in real world scenarios is just not noticable)
