This might seem like a strange one, but anyways, I have a slight issue in that I am going to get paid on the 23rd of this month and need to buy myself a graphics card. It needs to be of decent performance and I decided that the 760 met my requirements, however I have been reading that the 960 should be announced on the 22nd so I am wondering if it would be worth the wait? as it's not too long anyways.

Thanks guys, Just so you know, the build is:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£219.95 @ Aria PC)

Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£64.74 @ Aria PC)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  (£62.39 @ Aria PC)
Storage: Western Digital Scorpio Blue 250GB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive  (£30.50 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card  (£169.96 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Corsair 230T Windowed-BLUE ATX Mid Tower Case  (£64.99 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  (£49.60 @ Aria PC)
Total: £662.13

The 760 is placeholder so I could check the power requirements. Thanks guys!

you can be certain that the 960 will cost much more than the 760, also we still dont know when it hits the retailers for sure and since supposedly both will have 2gb vram i dont think its making much difference. IMO.

edit: 970 is a different ball game, but I think it was not what you asked for.

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.

960 will be better, but why don't you look at AMD GPU's O.o Or do you need nVidia only technologies O.o

Also, if that rig is only for gaming, go with 4690k and add an SSD! Don't leave SSD out of it!

Also, for that money you can easily get a better HDD...

Oh god, waiting is not going to happen! I don't mind a week or two. + I had an AMD 270x before, it didn't perform half bad to be honest but the GPU needs to be a better card then that was.

By the way, the SSD is going to be added in feburary, the HDD is just an old one I have lying around.

The 960 should be significantly better than a mere 270x

Wait for 960!

It'll perform more like 770 I guess!

If you don't mind extreme slowness of your system, here, without an SSD (you did say you have that old HDD lying around)...

Wait, if im not mistaken the 270x competes with the 760... So then whats the point in "upgrading" to it?... did the 270x break or something?
