Remotely access someone else's PC?

Is there a program to do this or is it too risky? I need to do something for my friend on his PC but I don't want to keep trying to explain it to him.

Yeah, Teamviewer all the way.. Free option for personal use.

Imma jump on the train and say TeamViewer.

Its the easiest, and most secure way of providing access to a computer. Its also great in that it gets around many firewall restrictions so theres no need to mess around with port forwarding, etc....

Teamviewer is safe. You can control what viewers can do at any time. The hosts input always overwrites a guests.

True, host can make guest's screen black, block his input and even turn the guest's pc off. And also afaik connection is encrypted so it's quite safe.

Do you need to make an account? Honestly it doesn't seem safe to me but he doesn't care so if there is any way only I can access his PC that would be great.

I don't get why people break their head with these software.

Windows has Windows Assistance.

With EasyConnect feature, you just exchange a code, and you are done, you connect to your friends computer and he/she can see what you are doing. There is a even a chat window that you can use.

If Easy Connect is not available, then your friend can e-mail you a generated invitation file, and gives you the generated password code. You just double click on the file, and enter the password code, and voila.

It works on all editions of: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. It is safe and secure. It uses Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol, which is used by nearly all businesses due to its security.
