Title. Things that make people mistake that your PC is crap but in reality it's out of this world. (ex. i7-5960x in a HP case.)

It's a pure AMD rig. That and I only spent $1000 on my rig, while all of my friends spent over $2000 on their current rigs.

But I'm getting a 290 soon :D

My PC has a 2600K clocked at 4.5GHz, cooled with a Seidon 240M and Corsair SP120s in pull, on an ASRock Extreme9 Z77, in a White Fractal Design R4 with a horrendously modded side panel and a blue power LED, an Antec EarthWatts Platinum and an Asus 7970 DirectCU II. The fans stick outside the case because the R4 has no room for the rad. most of the parts were cherry picked from multiple used sections of stores and I bought the parts with much class.

If anyone mistakes my rig for crap, then they need their head checked.

when people look at my case they think,'oh its cheap chap s**t', ( which the case is). But I like to think the guts inside are quite respectable.

Neither my nor my son's computer are really very public.    Is it common for forum members to have computers that are seen by enough people so that a percentage of those spectators is high enough to lead to perceived trend that the computer is of any particular status (crap or otherwise)?

That's interesting. It makes me wonder how to put an age on a computer that is built piecemeal.

My Mac, that's easy, it's a 2012 model.  It has a birthdate.     But my son's computer.  Hm..  if its age is based on the oldest component, it's 6 years old.   The newest component, a month old.  The operating system; 5 years.    The release date of the latest purchase?  Just over a year. Haha. It's so confusing.

For me its the date the system was first built...so in my case 10/9/12 or 9/10/12 for you Americans.

To me a motherboard+cpu generation upgrade counts as a new machine.

People usually don't finish their sentences when they see my computer case. Its a whole lot of "what is... is that a....look at the size of...holy crap"

my computer isn't crap but im guilty of welding a nice chrome pipe i had as an off-cut into the case and it looks fab, almost like something is being liquid cooled if you don't glance twice

anyway, I also stuck a core i7 sticker on my calculator

but more on topic, back a long time ago I made a pc case out of cardboard so hopefully that counts

When they mistake my computer as a place to pile cups...

No seriously, my case is a coffee table.

This is pretty much where my PC has lived for about 8 months, and will continue to until my H440 arrives:

Cheap diablotek case and old AMD Phenom.

But an Overclocked HD 6770.

Most games get 30/40FPS maxed out at 1080p. Minecraft actually hauls ass on it, too.

Can't play many modern games, but the games that do run on it are surprisingly happy with it.
