760 was £200 ish here in Uk at launch, if it is at the same price, then it is at r9 290 territory that is £210ish, that performs at gtx970 level....

R9 390 where are you :(

I'd love to know how they determine prices for GPU's here in the UK, some times they seem to be nearly 1:1 with the dollar, it's really not fair. Their are a lot of places that have comparatively a lot higher prices than us as well.

So the 960 is going to be same specs as the 270xto 280. Welp im either getting a 970 or 290 now.

It says It'll come with the GM204 and will have a 256-bit bus

This just seems like it exists only to move faulty cores that didn't make the cut for 970's and will only sell to die hard Nvidia fanboys unable to afford 970 or 980 anyone else would get R9 280x or 290 in this price bracket and those not looking to build a dedicated gaming machine would be better off saving the cash and just picking up a R9 270x or a 760

I'm waiting for it, but if it's really 128bit 2GB, then I will go for R9 280 instead.

I really kinda hope that price is right, especially if it's as powerful as my 7950. I will ditch this card and grab an ASUS 960 happily.

This would make a great little GPU for a HTPC to do Nvidia game streaming or Steam in home streaming.

That page says there is a 1024 core 960. 

considering I just brought a 285 for 210$ I really hope the 285 can atleast be on par with the card.

Expecting 4GB of VRAM on a budget oriented card is absurd. More like 2 GB 128-bit GDDR5. Especially with delta compression I expect exactly that on the GTX 960.

honestly Most x60 cards are 250~300 especially at launch soo I don't see this being any different and at that price point it'll be basically pointless compared to say 290 or 290x

You forget how much cheaper Maxwell was at its launch vs. Kepler. Nvidia knows what it has to do to compete with AMD.

Possibly but I don't know if that'll hold true for 960... Do remember were not comparing Maxwell and Kepler directly it's not a fair comparison you're making you're comparing 980 vs 780Ti GM204 vs GK110 and do remember that GM204 is the small or medium Maxwell Chip it is far cheaper for Nvidia to produce they weren't making much if any money from 780 or 780Ti which is why they came up with the Titan as to make some money back... Compare 980 to 680 and it's a far more similar comparison on alot of points and 680 was also cheaper than 580 at launch cause Nvidia could afford the price drop without losing lots of money in the process and 760 was still

Basically this is the Gtx 950 branded as a Gtx 960 as a result the higher price tag.Nerfed slightly overpriced cards by Nvidia no surprise :(
