Tech Things You Dont Know But Are Too Afraid To Ask.

What is this thing people refer to as being EAed?

If you EA something, you generally screw it up, or release the product too early, so it isn't complete :P It's a reference to one of the past livestreams.

I have always wondered what an ARM processor actually is. Like in relative to cpu and gpu. Is it more a cpu or a gpu? Or is it like an apu?

Why do they still use GHz for the speed of a CPU when a 3.5 GHz 4th gen i7 is at least 10 times faster in everything than a 3.5 GHz Pentium 4 even though they are both 3.5 GHz? It really makes explaining why a new CPU is faster than an old CPU to a non technical person.

ARM Holdings is a semiconductor chip designer like Intel or AMD.  They specialize in low power CPUs for handsets, tablets, and embedded controllers based on their ARM architecture, rather than the x86 architecture that Intel and AMD use.  That's why at the moment Intel is having trouble competing with them in the mobile market.  Their design is much better in terms of power consumption.  It does have integrated graphics capability.  But it is mainly a CPU.

GigaHertz isn't a measure of CPU speed, it's simply the frequency of the CPU cycles.  If people think it means speed then that's their mistake.

I have a 3770, the screws clicked in (usually indicating they are in) and i was afraid that anymore would over tighten and damage the motherboard.

Well, it's ubnormal for it to move, try and tighten them more, i can't picture how it can damage a thing.

How do I follow a pro cs go team? like watch their matches, see the leader boards, see tournament structure, where and who they're playing etc.

Why do electronics need a pcb. Is it made out of silicon?

Why do i always get blue screens? Why not a red one for a change?

Why do electronics need a pcb. Is it made out of silicon?

Because parts need to communicate.

Why did the CEO of Telstra say that our copper wire network will be "perfectly OK" for Australia's communication needs for the next century? like, seriously, Steve Ballmer wouldn't even have the audacity to say that

Why do electronics need a pcb. Is it made out of silicon?

It's just a board that you put them on.  Stuff can't float in air unfortunately.  It's made out of fiberglass for the most part.  And it contains copper pathways connecting all the parts that need to send electrical signals to each other.

That is fiberglass.  It can't be a conductive material or everything on it would short out.

Then what is made of silicon in a cpu, the transistors?
