Why is my Steam downloads game slow?

That is very interesting, and also confusing

Hello,

 

My internet download speed is 15mbps put I can only download games at 1.9mbps tops. I have use an ethernet cable if that helps. I also have my download region as close to me as possible, it's only 1 hour away!

Also some games can be up to 50gb, so it is huge files you're getting.

You are paying for 15 mpbs and steam is downloading at 1.9 MB. A little "b" is a bit, an uppercase "B" is a byte. There are 8 bits to a byte.

 

15 divided by 8 is 1.875. You're getting what you're paying for.

1 Megabit: 1024 / 8 = 128 KiloBytes

15 Megabits: 1024 * 15 / 8 = 1920 KiloBytes (or 1.875 MegaBytes)
