But, I would use this CPU to replace  my 4 year old laptop which I have to use 5 days a week, and is constantly thermally throttling. I do a lot of video editing and 3D rendering, so a (much) stronger CPU would be an amazing upgrade.

My god! I'm planning on building a X-99 pc with 2-SLi GTX 980, this would be a great starting-point.
