define r4 or h440 case?

Thats a pretty vague question. What are you putting in it, and what needs do you have. Case are also very personal preference. Also, why not define R5?

Whichever you like the look of better. If you need the smaller of the two then the H440.

H440 gets my vote because I like the way it looks.

The h440 is a great case, It is better than the r4 IMO, but the r5 is good competition for it.

Both are amazing awesome cases. Neither is "better", so its all about what you like.

Hard decision, both are great cases. Look at the features of both and see which would be more useful for you, otherwise I'd probably choose based on price.

I love how sleek the H440 is, when i bought my case, it was a dead heat between the H440 and the Corsair 760T, in the end I loved the 760T too much and gave into that, but the H440 offers a wide range of colour schemes and i think NZXT's products go together really well, so you shouldn't have a problem in the future with mis-matching parts.

More airflow + 5.25" bays = Define R4

Better looks = H440

i just picked up an h440 so I am bias but both are great cases, if you want more airflow get the r4 or r5 but for looks, some great features

Get whichever one you like better from a looks perspective. 

 

Both are good cases and I don't think either one will have a feature that will make it a NOGO for you if you haven't found out about it yet, even after doing some research of your own, considering how well documented these two cases are and how many builds feature them.
