Well my monitor refresh is 60hz so I guess 60 fps cause I HATE SCREEN TEARING!!!!! I wish I had an 85 or 120 hz monitor or that lucid logics worked without all the syncing issues because when it works it is freaking sweet.

For me, the bare minimum would be 35-40 FPS. My GPU has been struggling a bit lately, so I think it is time for an upgrade!

If I see 40+ I would be satisfied but if you start the game with 40+ you will probably see a lot lower numbers after some time, that's the problem for me in some games.

For me, 40 is acceptable 60 is optimal (because I don't have a high refresh rate monitor :( ), but i could do with 30 if it's a really and I do mean REALLY good game that isn't on PC, (Red Dead Redemption comes to mind)

Depends on the game really... in FPS games I need as much as possible, I'd prefer 60-80+.

30fps will do in a pinch. and i usually V-sync to 60fps.
prefer 120+ but since Planetside 2 is a bit of a resource hog im happy with 60fps

For twitch based games 90+ FPS e.g: COD & CS and for most games some FPS, RTS, and RPG 60 FPS minimum. Anything less than 60 is too low for me and unplayable for my play style.

anything over 30 fps should be smooth if the programmers did there job properly but because most dont then 35-45 tends to be where choppyness fades.

thing is if you have 30 fps rock solid you can have just as good a time playing a game as if you were playing at 60 or 120. smooth consistent frames is essential even if you have to extend the amount of time each frame is on screen by up to 35ms each... 30x35ms is roughly 1000ms total so = to 1 second. on pc it can be anywhere from 5ms to 20 ms and this is what causes the choppy display even when running at 60fps +
