Open-world racing games for PC?

Go to solution Solved by Legend932,

Test Drive unlimited and Driver San Fransisco.

I've been playing a bit of Forza Horizon on my 360 lately, and I really like the gameplay, but I just cannot stand the 720p. I'm sorry, but I just can't handle all the blurry.

So, my question is, are there any decent open world-ish racing games for PC? I've heard good things and bad things about the Most Wanted remake, but most importantly, is the RACING part of the game fun?

Far cry 3 has vehicles in it, is open world, is gorgeous and there are time trials and such for challenges. loads of fun, lots of variety.

Need for Speed World

It's free but gets pretty boring after an hour IMO.

But it's not a RACING game. I want a racing game similar to Forza Horizon where I can race and customise my car, but also roam around the game world in a car.

If you have specific features in mind, you should list them with your question, we will be better able to make suggestions with more information about what you want.

NFS Underground 2 it's pretty old and you may have already played it but it is fun arcade style though. You mentioned Forza in your post if you havn't played ToCA 2 try this out it is my favorite sim on the PC not open world though. It does have drm problems on win 7 last time I played there are ways around it though ;-). Or it you've got a copy of win xp you could dual boot.

Street Legal Racing Redline

Graphics may not be that good but gameplay is so awesome

Cars are fully tunable (from engine parts to paintjobs)

You can roam around looking for races and stuff and whenever you crash your car, its totally realistic, parts break and you cant drive the car, had so much fun with it :D

Origin under free games.

It *may* still be available as a standalone download on the NFSW website though.

I haven't played it it a few months but I'm pretty sure even Origin downloads it as a separate installer.

Though it's not racing. Well...you could race against traffic.

You need to register and download origin to get it.

(I posted this earlier but it seems something went wrong)
