Good MMORPGs for new player

Hey everyone,

 

I'm a total newbie when it comes to MMO games. I've only played Lord of the Rings online briefly. I would like to play some MMORPG games again but not something with a monthly subscription.

 

If you guys could give me suggestions for a Free to Play (but not pay to win) game or if available a game were you only pay once for each expansion.

 

A game with good story and preferable fantasy genre (i.e. swords and magic and monsters etc)

 

also a game where you could progress alone and get into parties to have a large battle or quest.

 

doesn't have to be best graphics but would be nice if it wasn't awful.

 

honestly what got me excited about MMOs is watching the anime Sword Art Online. I really like the style it was displayed so any game close to that would be great.

 

Sorry if i'm asking for too much or being vague as i'm a total noob in the MMO world and don't know which games are which.

Guild Wars 2 is the only good non-subscription MMO out there in my opinion.

Neverwinter and TERA is two of the better free ones according to me.

your're asking alot for a free-to-play MMO.

the best MMORPG of the last decades is World of Warcraft, but it doesnt meet one of your criteria, its not free.

 

 

but steam offers a bunch of them. check this link

may your framerates be high and your temperatures be low. #pcmr

tera isn't bad... it's not good either though by any stretch of the imagination. If you want to pass a little time, check it out. I'm pretty sure you'll get bored of it rather quickly though.

TERA, bigass patch coming on 16th of december, right now you have an exp boost untill that day so you reach 60, since the patch includes lvl cap increased to 65.

Path of Exile is a perfect free to play MMO

PoE isn't massive.

Anyone who has a sister hates the fact that his sister isn't Kasugano Sora.

Thanks a lot for that. I loved his review. I found it for 50% off till December 7th I could buy the digital delux version for only 35$ which is awesomeeee. thanks a lot mate :D

Rift or Path of Exile. PoE is pretty fun and doesn't require you to pay to be able to get anywhere.
