So my friend recently put up his AlienWare laptop on Craigslist for sale. He wanted like 900$ and received various offers. As any human being would, he took the highest offer of 1200$. He shipped the laptop and to Nigeria, where the person whom he agreed to sale to lived. He then found out that he never received any money and that the guy wouldn't contact him anymore. My friend got worried and then messaged me saying that he got scammed. His AlienWare, lost. He was quite disappointed and his parents were too. He had already chosen out his new PC build with all the money he expected to receive. He was quite excited about his build. We would talk about it everyday. He had an Intel I5 build which he said "experts" guaranteed that it would be a great gaming rig for years to come. His plans got crushed by that.... jerk who didn't pay him. We live in the U.S. He tried to get his package back but the post office said they couldn't do anything about it. This news really upset me, in fact I feel bad. His build was going to be awesome, that was all he wanted but he got screwed over ._.

Well there are multiple reasons why your friend is ignorant:

-He bought an alienware laptop

-He shipped an item using craigslist which is meant for local in-person deals and has no guarantee

-He sold it to a person in Nigeria

Based on these reasons, I suggest you try to find yourself some more intelligent friends before he asks you to give him a loan to pay for another scam.

Apart from not shipping stuff on Craigslist, you never ship stuff before you receive payment, and unless you actually know the person, you don't ship stuff to West Africa. Why would he ship without payment!?!?

Not sure. I remember him saying tjat the only way to receive money on his paypal was to ship it, send the guy the order number and then the guy would send money

I don't feel very sympathetic.

He shipped it overseas with no guarantee that he would get the money, to fucking Nigeria.

What would you expect?
