It's all down to personal preference. Do you like deep, saturated colours or dull, washed out colours with a faster refresh rate. Not that I'm hinting at anything :P. I'll be going with this one for my build. But I do video editing, so I kinda need the colour accuracy. ;)

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Depends. Do you want better better graphics or faster framerate?

IMO for gaming it comes down to personal preference but outside of gaming the extra screen real estate and better colour wins out. So I'd personally lean towards higher resolution IPS over higher refresh rate TN.

Well, which number to you is the more "Just a number" number: Resolution or frame rate?

I would say unless you have a computer that can actually drive 1080p at 144fps, go with the IPS panel. You'll appreciate the colour reproduction so much more than a TN panel.

it really is personal preference. i had the same issue and i went for the "asus pb278q" which is a 27" 1440p 60hz IPS/LPS monitor. since im not a pro gamer but rather game for fun and atmosphere i went with the much better looking ips. again. its just personal preference. but i really wanted to have 27" 1440p. so much more real estate and it doesnt take much more power. with that resolution you can switch off anti aliasing on most games.

if you are really good gamer and also competitive, get 1080p 144Hz monitor, those Hz can improve your reaction times and smoother gameplay. If you like working and making some content on pc, watching movies and stuff and playing casually games than get 1440p monitor
