4690k for gaming, but if you're playing games that need more threads, then go with 4790k... Even though i'm somewhat an AMD fan, they don't make good high-end CPU's (scratch that, they don't make any high-end CPU's), so for any CPU over 150$, go with Intel :)

Yeah what got me thinking is that if I dont get a great 4790k I cant overclock it but even if its good its average oc is 4.4 so the AMD would be faster

Clock speed isn't everything, if you're only gaming then get the 4690k and 16GB of RAM.

As much as I love my FX-8320 I can't seem to understand why the FUCK would you buy 9590? It draws enormous amounts of eletricity and doesn't perform so well. Go for 4790K for sure and if you're gaming, you only need 4690K

you'll find a lot of benchmarks already run with the CPU at stock clocking and

still the i-series is quicker in FPS.

Ok thanks guys this will be it http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/ygLFHx

you dumped your PSU and you'll need a mid-tier motherboard.

just get a larger SSD (less RAID system boot issues - slow)

case?
