1. Install OS X

2. Enjoy Safari 7, which absolutely crushes every other browser in JS performance and overall efficiency in rendering

or

1. Install Firefox

2. Enjoy it, because Chrome is made by evil overlords and Firefox is way better since the new 30 update

or

1. Install Opera

2. Realize it's Chrome but slower

I've heard throwing your computer down a flight of stairs is also a faster alternative to Chrome! But we wouldn't do that either, would we?

It became Chrome a few versions back... It keeps the characteristic of being lightweight tho... Way less RAM usage compared to chrome...

It still manages to freeze my Satellite A60 tho... The disadvantages of having 256MB DDR1 RAM...

No IE6

I remember the days when OS X used IE 2/3 in 10.1 and 10.2

*shudders*

Wow, with 256MB of RAM, even Windows '98 would be slow :P

XP was fast enough... I still use the thing to play some old games like 3D Pinball on Windows XP... Web browsing is torture...

The heaviest thing I managed to load on it was a flash game, more than 200MB when fully loaded (it's split up by preloading only the stuff that's needed)... It runs that at a buttery smooth 15fps...

Want a lightweight browser? Try Lynx! The whole browser is just 5 MB! Doesn't get much more lightweight than that!

Haha! Just kidding. Lynx is a totally text based web browser. But its still in development today! And has been for over 20 years! Haha!
