Few IEM questions

kcchi

My situation:

  > wears glasses

  > never tried earphones that should be worn with the cable around the ear

I understand the fit and comfort of the actual IEMs are different for everyone so I'm just asking, for anyone who has experienced it, if the cable around the ear is really a pain with glasses or not / does it get caught in it often, etc.

I'm currently looking at the Havi B3 Pro I and the Vsonic VSD3S. If you have any input on those or suggestions ( < 100$ ), by all means :) Thanks

Nope not at all. I wear my se215 with my sunglasses all the time. Glasses help keep the cable in line with your head.

So your looking for $100+ iems?

If you got the chance to audition (try it on), make sure to try on the standard and the special edition. They sound a bit different. Some like the standard version, others, including me, like the special version more.

Havi B3 is has really big soundstage(huge) but it has a lack of 'rumbling' bass. So if you are into those dubstep/pop that require 'rumbling' as a fun factor, then it might disappoint you.

On that note, I heard havi b6(?) and the new vsonic IEM's are coming out very soon.

AMD FX-8350 @4GHz / Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 / G.Skill RipJaw X 8GB 1866Mhz / Samsung 840 120GB SSD / Sapphire R9 270X Toxic / Corsair CX500 / Fractal Design Define R4 / Corsair K70 Cherry MX Blue / Xiaomi  Piston 2.0 / Steelseries Sensei / LG G3 32GB

Soundstage is the key factor that made me consider the havi b3 in the first place ! I love open headphones and while I know it can't be compared to those, I'm still really interested

I don't often listen to dubstep and such so it should be just fine :) I did hear rumors about the havi b6 and vsd5 but since there's a sale right now and I don't think the difference will be dramatic, I'm probably going to go with the B3 :)

Thanks for your input!

If you're going for soundstage, consider the apple earpods (the funny pea-shaped). I bought a cheap $7 version of it, and it really sounds good (the original one should be better). I think it's the design itself that made it sounds so airy.

Yeah, for $7-$15 what you got to lose anyway. Worse come to worst, if you don't like it, give it to your kid cousin or niece or whatever :)

Check out beyerdynamic dtx 72 ie. They are on massdrop for $45 once it hits the lowest drop and they're normally $80. I bought one to try them out but they look pretty good for the price.

Can't argue with that :P

I've tried non-angled IE before and none of them ever quite fit into my ear at all. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
