There is no need for 60fps for the typical reviews. Gameplay is one thing, but video of 'real life' is different. 60fps requires a faster shutter speed, which results in less motion blur. This gives you a more 'sharp' appearance, but also has the effect of making things look artificial or gives it the 'soap opera effect.' Sports, or other times where there's a lot of action in the scene, 60fps is great (especially if you're planning on any slow motion); but talking head type video, 24fps or 30fps is the way to go.

Yes 60 fps is better, but no I don't think it's worth the potential cost in camera equipment, and practically double the file size for them to upload on their mediocre connection.

I only see a reason to do so in Gameplay/Benchmark runs/previews that they occasionally show us for their tests.

 

For System building I'd rather 4K @ 30 than 1080p@60

j/k aside, for these kind of videos, I'd say no but it certainly is nice to see it in 60FPS but when it comes to gameplays and fast paced videos then 60fps is definitely going to be a big improvement

You won't really notice the difference when it comes to reviews and it will make it a much more tedious task for him. The only time 60 fps would be of any benefit is in gameplay reviews.

It will not double the file size, what do you think compression is for? The only time that would happen would be is stuff was saved as raw. Thing is almost nothing video wise is saved raw as there is lossless compression.

Right....but it's not like they weren't already compressing it. It doesn't double the file size, but it does greatly increase it. And since they are on 4k, Idk if those 4k cameras can do 60fps. Not only that, but the raw recording will fill up the camera drives faster at 60 fps.

Greatly would be an exaggeration when using good compression. They actually might already shoot 60fps and go down to 30 in post. I doubt they they are shooting raw and are likely going to ProRes or like which actually isnt even lossless but lossy.

I have a feetish for source/raw things.

I save backups of any graphic projects I work on every time there's a major change, and usually end up with thousands of layers and stupid high resolutions if it's not vector....and video...

I mean with images it gets to a point where with some ffilters and scripts on adobe products, the resolution I work at is too high and is not compatible. 

I have a stack of hard drives. And I don't even really record much of anything. 

Guess I'm not practical.

This is youtubes fault here. 720 at 30 should be allowed on a 60 fps video.
