As Nedward Stark famously said in the fantasy novel Games of Thrones: "Games is coming... in Winter, Q4."

He was probably talking about Telltale's episodic Game of Thrones adaptation, which is due to start before the end of the year.

The news comes from community manager Laura Perusco, who tweeted the following:

@RatedR2012 No specific release date announced yet, but I can confirm that the season IS premiering later this year. :)

I want to watch GoT but it's expensive to buy in box-set. Is it worth it?

Absolutely! Out right amazing. Starts off a bit slow with back story, but blows you away when it gets further in :3 highly recommend!!

This.

Went in expecting it to be all like 'What the people are all fussing about?"

But its pretty good once your in past a few eps and after that you don't mind watching a few eps at a time as it takes hold of you :)

S1 is still pretty damn good, even with a slower pace than the rest.

Highly advise you watch it, or give it a go.

Is Nedward Stark some inside joke I'm missing? It is Eddard, or Ned for short.

Also, if you though the show was good, go read the books. I started reading the books after the first few episodes, and while the show is still really good it pales in comparison to the books. You miss so much info in the show, reading the books first honestly makes the show better.

Pretty excited to see what the game will be like, and think Telltale is a great studio to be adapting it, the episode format will really fit. I hope the game will be like a prequel, I'd love an in depth look at the Targaryen age.

His name is Eddard Stark, Ned for short. That is all.
