I'm not sure I get what you are asking, can you elaborate a little? If you are talking about putting a Crystal(as in rock) in your case then I don't see any kind of benefit(unless if there is a bling factor). If you are talking about the Crystal related to frequency generating then: Putting it in your case would do nothing, and changing the one on your motherboard will completely throw it off and make it unstable.

The only thing I could possibly think of is... maybe it absorbs moisture....

Well... its kind of good. Wrist watches use chrystals to store electricity. And most electronics use silicon as material (chemical formula for Quartz is SiO2). But in that use its just for bling. And why not. Its really nice looking piece. But its actually multiple chrystals that have grown together.

 

I have my rockz laying where ever I have space for them... Easier to show off them anyway :)
