Hope you lads use Verizon ;)

What. Not familiar with the US carriers. Are they a good carrier or quite terrible?

The phone's a Verizon exclusive. They run on CDMA, so the phone is useless unless you use it with them; afaik most of the rest of the world has switched to GSM.

I know we got rid of most CDMA carriers in Canada a few years ago.

Yeah, in the US, Sprint and Verizon are the only CDMA carriers. At least big ones.

There is, the Lumia 1020 with a 41mp camera, so android still has to catch up to that

There's nothing to catch up to. A DSLR won't come with more than 20 MP, unless you want to spend over a thousand dollars. Why should an android or windows or any other phone? It's just penis size bragging rights, that's it. Image quality isn't affected by increasing the amount of MP. What's a 41 MP photo good for if there's a ton of noise and a lot of muddied up subjects and inaccurate colors?

No one. Hence the exclusive part.

damn it. If something is going to be exclusive, don't make it region specific. At least grant exclusivity to one carrier in each country,

eg: Virizon - US, Vodafone - UK&AU ect.

Put it in video mode. That makes the S 5 pretty average in terms of saturation (and very good in other areas).

The results we got for the Note 4 looks fantastic.

Yes but then it no longer sips power and you loose the only advantage of OLED screens. Might as well use an IPS at that point.

If the rest of the specs are good (and the price) then I might get this... Just when I thought I'd be loyal to Sony's Xperia series as well.

Damn it's been a while since I've owned a Motorola phone.

Well, its going to be the first non-Sony phone with the Flagship IMX sensor. (Sony Exmor R camera)

I get 3-4 days on 3000mAh on my Z1.

That battery is massive, I would go even thicker phone and 6100 mAh battery if I was Motorola, but I'm sure 3900 will be enough for 2 ish days.

3000mAh is 3-4 days.

6100mAh is bigger than most laptop batteries.

Ehh... What? Putting it in video mode won't have a negative effect on battery life (if anything it might be better since the colors will be duller).

Power consumption is not even an area where OLED screens were better than IPS. The advantages of OLED are:

-Thinner than other types of displays.

-"Infinite contrast" because of perfect blacks.

-Lower power consumption but ONLY when you are viewing black or dark things (for bring things they are worse).

-Can turn parts of the screen off (useful for things like the S cover or Motorola's notifications when the screen is off)

-Very wide color gamut (you can still turn it on/off if you want, having the option is good). One of the major problems with this is that Android haven't been color space aware yet (it's coming in Android L) so that has contributed to the over saturated colors on wide color gamut displays.

-Lower response time than IPS.

-Better viewing angles.

My 2200 mAh in my Moto X barely makes it a day (6am to 10pm) , and my 2600 mAh in my S4 doesn't even make it unless I charge over lunch. I'd love twice the battery life...

no, the whole Motorola Droid line of phones are Verizon exclusive. I have the first Motorola Droid in my desk, it was an okay phone.
