Need to enhance audio recording to get neighbor kicked out

Hey guys,

 

so I have this alcoholic f*cktard for a neighbor, he lives in the apartment above me and spends most of his day swearing at the top of his lungs, stomping around and banging doors as loud as he can.

I'm currently collecting evidence to get him kicked out of his apartment, so I've been recording his yelling and plan to present it to the landlord. Now the problem is that my Galaxy S4 doesn't have the strongest microphone and the recordings sound much more muted than in real life. It is also much harder to understand things like "I'll shoot your f*cking balls off you piece of sh*t as**ole n*gger", which is just one of the things he's been yelling through the whole god damn building today.

 

Audio editing isn't my thing, so I'm searching for an easy-to-use piece of software that can enhance the quality of my recordings, just enough so that the landlord will be able to understand the racial slurs and other rather unpleasant things echoing through my apartment right now.

 

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Trust Starzz Microphone. Picks almost everything up, and it's like 20 bucks.

Mic + audacity works fine...

 

If it's too soft, you can amplify the recording...

I don't think that would serve any real purpose now, would it... here's one of the files anyway:

I wasn't able to make it understandable... but it was enough for the landlord, given the fact that other neighbors had been complaining about him, too. The only understandable word is "Scheiße", german for "shit".

Yeah, he's been yelling far worse things today, but I couldn't make any of it even remotely understandable, so this was the best I got... was enough, though... looking forward to seing him move out in a few weeks  :D

I think in germany it's a lot more difficult to get somebody out. As long as he pays his rent and doesn't damage anything or attack people he's safe.

yeah, but this guy has been doing this for months every day and now that pretty much all the neighbors have complained about him at least once, it was about time.
