Thinking of buying a xbox one controller for my computer

I'm wondering if I should buy a xbox one controller to play games on my computer such as fifa and assassin's creed, etc.

Is there anyone who can share their experience?

Is it worth the purchase?

Yeah any gamepad and steam in big picture mode for games like AC or any racegame beats mouse and keyboard experience by far. singleplayer shooters are also a lot more pleasant since you can lay back in your lazy chair or something

get a cheap 360 controller, unless you really like the feel more of the Xbone one

I got XB360 controller for DarkSouls but now I use it regulary for platformers and racing games.. also in ARMA for piloting helis and jets. I would say it was worth it.

Definitely worth the purchase. Some games feel unplayable without it. I have been playing batman arkham origins all week with mine. I would say most 3rd person games are better with them, shooters I can't use anything but mouse and keyboard for however. I hate the loss of total aim control with analog sticks.

It works fine but you should wait for the wireless version.

its great. for example, Titanfall with an Xbox controller on PC is how it should have been on Xbox One.

its just like playing on a console but way better

How are the drivers now? When I tried mine, most of the games had hissy fits and acted super strangely.

Pretty vague but I'll take a guess because you're using a pad and not mouse/keyboard. You already pointed out Assassins Creed which I really enjoyed, I also enjoyed the latest Tomb Raider. Those both play great with the xbox pads. Take your pick of driving games like the Dirt/Grid series which are both great (if you can get past the annoying voices in).

There are so many great experiences to be had on the PC with a controller, just avoid the multiplayer shooters like CoD and CS since you'll be at a major disadvantage.

I kind of prefer the xbones controller. They're extremely similar but the shape of the xbone fits my hand slightly better. Wont be long before drivers are on the same level and everything works just as well. The OP himself even said it's working a treat for him so it doesn't even seem to be an issue anymore.

 

I will need to give it a go with Asseto Corsa again, since that was the biggest offender where issues were concerned. It caused my computer to go nuts, making my sound levels go crazy providing earthquake levels of screaming engines to power through my home and wake up people living 3 streets away. I couldn't tab out or get to the task manager, my only option was to put my fingers in my ears and try and find the power button with my elbows.
