Welcome to the forums. All you really need to the CoC and if you want to, how to post status updates. Be sure to read the CoC http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/95599-linus-tech-tips-forum-code-of-conduct/

 

Status Updates: Type what you want in that box and press update and it will appear on your profile for people to comment on. (like facebook I guess but no pictures you just need to post links to things like that)

Night theme is best theme IMO but you may not like it.
