Oh God the Comment Section...

Hey guys, so just saw this video:

 

 

 

Scrolled though the comments and it's a cesspool of people who don't really know what their talking about :\

 

The video itself was hilarious especially pitting real world performance against one another rather than just benchmarks.

 

A couple things I noticed that I would correct in people saying:

 

- A Quad Core processor isn't faster than a Dual Core by default. It depends on the strength and speed of the cores as Intel has kindly shown AMD.

 

- The iPhone 6 is most likely more for those who prefer the OS, hardware in other phones may be more powerful (i.e. my OPO) but some people prefer iOS and the full cross-platform congruity that you can obtain via Apple products. (Also for people who love have their data secure, forgot to add that)

 

- The Galaxy S5 is pretty bogged down by it's Android skin and all in all is not that great of phone. (It's not terrible or bad, just not high end).

 

- This was fun to watch and I enjoyed it, shouldn't be taken super seriously.

 

 

Let me know what you guys think! No flame war though or I will take away your cookies.

 

I should probably also add that I'm not a fan of iOS but am a neutral party.

While I partly agree with what you say, I think the phone wars still have merit for discussion. I mean if you were to drop 600 dollars on a piece of hardware, you better damn well be sure it's the one you want and you won't have regrets.

Personally i wouldn't buy either phone: both are overpriced, one is missing basic features in favour of useless ones and the other is chock-full of bloatware. But hey, to each their own...

someone who reasons like me let's have a pizza together! (spiritually, doing it physically would be challenging to say the least ^^)

 

Jokes aside, that's exactly the point with these phones: they are nowhere near worth 730$. Hence the controversy. Personally, if I had to buy a new phone (vurrently I'm fine with my nokia 5800) I'd probably get a decently powerful one (mainly for gaming on the go, since sometimes I stay away from my pc for days and there is a port of doom 3 for android ^^) but never anything over 300$.

Less powerful than others, too much bloatware, OS isn't lightweight enough. You know, the usual. The S4 was much better than the S5.

 

Also all of those definitely kills the phone when you look at the price.

No, it depends on how efficiently the system uses all that horsepower.

Yeah I hate commenting on youtube now, unless it is to communicate directly with the channel operator (as I do with some of the ones I'm subbed to) or to just +1 other positive comments.  I refuse to reply to ridiculous comments by idjits as while my intentions are pure in trying to "correct" them on a dumb comment, the cesspool that it is usually reaches out and drags me down into a stupid argument which I loathe. 

 

What youtube really needs is to allow people to make their own original comments on the video but then put a waiting period (2 to 3 hours) on replying to people. Cut down on the arguments by making all the negative troll comments move to the bottom.

 

I much prefer commenting on a forum such as this as the people are way more friendlier and civil and with a strong administrative team, they will "buff out" the trolls and the idiotic comments.

Point three oh my god yes. The amount of CRAP that comes with most Samsungs. If I were to get an Android device it would probably be a Nexus just to avoid all of that bloatware.

It's both actually. Having 4-cores doesn't inherently mean it's faster than a processor with 2. Faster and Stronger cores always win no matter how the software utilizes the multi-core processor. Intel's 4690K is just as powerful as AMD's FX 8350. It's about more than just the number of cores.

You buy one of those old or casual flip phones for that, smartphones are a different market for different uses at this point. A smartphone usually has a bajillion other uses than just acceptable call quality with constant connection to the carrier.

 

If you knock smartphones down to "just phones," you're looking at the wrong thing.
