Club 3D HD7950 RoyalKing

i just bought a new gpu the Club 3D HD7950 RoyalKing, i bought because of the very low price and high performence (and it was the only 7950 that would fit in my case xD)

here is a list of the pros and cons

-pros

-cheap around €280

-small 268mm/26.8cm/10.6inch

-very good cooling (50 degrees under full load non overclocked)

-good overclocking (1200mhz core clock and 1500mhz memory clock, full load 55/60 degrees)

-very quite

-very good performence (bf3 all maxed out 80/120 fps, crysis 3 all maxed out 50/60fps (aa is max), bf4 BETA maxed out, 60/65 fps) (bf3 non overclocked, crysis3 overclocked to 1200mhz, bf4 non overclocked)

-fans never run faster than 40%

-cons

-red pcb (some of you maybe like it for custome builts with a red theme)

-lots of fan noise when the fans run at 70% (never runs faster than 40%)

-packaging(just in carboard box with cardboard inside, i would like to see foam for protection)

overal it is a very good gpu, if you have the money i would deffenitly buy it, it can run every game at 1080P at good fps, and because of the new nvidea cards, this card would deffenitly drops it price

(sorry for bad enlgish, i have dyslexia and i come from the netherlands xD)

Nice review!

I have one of these exact cards and believe, as you say, it is great for the price. I am able to play titles such as Crysis 3, Far cry 3 and Borderlands 2 on high settings @ 1080p whilst maintaining a decent frame-rate.

The red PCB was not a problem for me as my builds theme is red and black and in regards to coil whining, I have not experienced this at all with my card.

I would like to make a couple suggestions to your list of pros and cons:

CON: The card is a bit flimsy, in that the heat-sink is rather heavy and really only held on with the screws going through the PCB.

PRO: This card is very overclock-able, I was able to achieve a stable OC of 1200MHz on the Core Clock and 1575MHz on the Memory Clock, using MSI AfterBurner.

The exact settings I used are as follows: [Core Voltage (mV): 1250mV], [Power Limit (%): +20], [Core Clock (MHz): 1200MHz] and finally [Memory Clock (MHz): 1575MHz]. I also left the fan speed on auto.

Great card, hope my input helps out.

i mentioned the overclocking, wich are indead great and the coil whinning only accours when the fan speed is at 70% or higher wich it never gets when the feen speed is set to auto in msi afterburner

but thank you for your commment :)

If u only notice the whine with a 70 percent fan speed then it is probably the fans..

doesn't coil whine come from high fps (e.g. 1000fps+ in menus?) At least that's what my 7870 does, although if i turn my head 90° away from my pc i can't hear it anymore

I always found the club cards to be considerably cooler than the standard Saphire and Powercolor ones -- one swanky ass card. :D

The irony is the fact that as far as I remember VTX3D , Club3D and Powercolor are actualy all the same company O.o

good review, although i wouldn't call a 10.6 inch card "small", the gtx 670 is small.
