I wanted to play Alpha but then I saw it was a 150$ buy in and said I would never play this game, but as time went by I started getting interested in it again and when I knew they would launch F2P I was sold.

I wanted to buy a pack to get 4 day head start.. Then the problems already started. It took them 3 days to send me the authentication code so I could log in to buy the game. (Which I didn't anymore since only 1 day head start left and my school started)

 

Now I come home from school for the 2nd day in a row and there is a 4k+ queue... Like wut? Trion, are you serious? 7 servers, for EU and people from Asia (other than Koreans) who will most likely play on EU servers.

Nothing wrong with timing, eventhough they also launched when my school started. that's just bummer.

 

It's all about the fcking servers.. Letting 5 people in each hour or something..

Yea, I played a bit this morning before I left for school and I just enjoy it so much, just the Q's... Horrible

I personally love the game and payed the $150 for alpha. Yes it is having issues at launch but every new game does, especially mmo's (not saying this is acceptable but it doesn't make it any worse than other mmo's). As for you que, play on a different server. EVERY popular mmo has a que on the popular servers. especially since this is launch, it will go down with time.

Problems at launch are acceptable. Problems with the Queue due to 7 servers for 2 continents? Nope.

 

Also, in EU the server with the smallest queue is like 3K (still 2-3 hours of waiting)

Thanks man. I'll just preload it for when I have time to play. Got one exam left to prepare so that keeps me busy, but as soon as it's done (which is in 7 days) I'll have time for gaming. And I'm hoping the traffic is handled by then.

I hope so too, else they will lose every single player they have in the game.

Well they will fix it soon for sure, it's the initial fail as it is with every game. LoL (still happens), even happened to Rockstar with the launch of GTA V online.

As much as I was looking forward to this game last year... the combat was really offputting for me. Which was pretty mucht the reason for me to play the game, the combat felt too outdated but I do think the cause is Blade & Soul, which was the last mmo I played before trying out Archeage.

 

Still looks like it has a lot of nice features, but simply not for me.

Defintily worth trying out as I've heard good things from it.

I just reinstalled GW2 a few days ago. Since ArchAge came out and it's F2P I tried it out as well. I had a 2k queue but I waited it out. It's pretty good, but the combat is standard MMO crap. Honestly, GW2 with all it's faults is still miles better. It's just so inviting and just gives you a sense of freedom. And the combat is so good. I didn't play a lot of ArchAge, I know that later on it gets better, but the mechanics aren't nearly as good, especially the combat. The world seems bland, unimaginative, boring... I'll play a bit more when the zerg rush ends.

i'm enjoying it quite a bit, and the queues are temporary, infact i prefer it this way, i remember when SWTOR came out and all the servers were so full they started adding new ones every other week, 3 months later most servers were bare, this way in 3 months time the servers will still have a healthy population.

 

i did pay for patron (15 bucks) for this first month, it skips the queue and gives the extra gameplay for me to see if its worth it.

 

yeah the combat isnt the best, but the traveling is awesome, they really nailed it in my opinion, you get a horse very early on, so you dont spend half the time walking across the maps, the player-drivenness of it all is also spot on, houses, farms, ships and castles for large guilds to run and siege and battle, large wars over terrain GW2-style, trade missions are cool too, even if it is mostly traveling, but it gives reason to go deep into enemy territory, with escorts and large caravans.

For the very limited time I got to play, before it CTD'd me and then i was back in the massive que(to be expected), it feels like I should be playing with a controller. A lot like Tera really, which for me was way more fun with a 360 controller. I'll give it more time when the ques aren't quite so insane, 3h+ is a bit much really, but I don't think they need any new servers as this will die off pretty quickly(the ques, not the game) so it won't really be an issue. Looks decent enough, albeit a bit generic.

I quite enjoy the Queue mini-game, I could spend hours upon hours playing it and still get no-where....

 

ok, serious now:

 

the game runs surprisingly well, for an MMO, i'm a GW2 player (mostly a World Vs World Player) so I was used to a lot of frame drops in gw2, however in Archeage I get no frame drops (and..well..I don't have a good pc..at all....)

The scenery is stunning gorgeous.

 

I only got up to level 10 at the moment so I can't say much about the combat as of yet nor gameplay wise, but so far there is both positive & negative sides to what I think right now.

 

Exiting the game, causes a full PC restart (as with other players) which is really annoying.

 

 

Once the queues die down, and your looking to try it out, I would suggest that you really do try it out, it's looking to be a fun game with a lot of stuff to do in it.

Just queue and do other stuff, i got some homework done and by the time i was finished i was about ready to play.

Very enjoyable game. Definitely worth your time ATM.  Don't know if i'll play when it comes out though.

I love the game, played the BETA and was hooked.

 

Come launch, the queue times are unbearable.  The only time I got to play was on my day off, started queue at 2am, only ~800 or so, so I was playing by 3:15am.  Got up to level 10, went to bed, haven't been able to play since because of the long queue times.  This was on Thursday.

 

Really really want to play the game because it is loads of fun, and will likely be my next obsession.

I play with a couple of other friends. It's a really fun MMO. I do have some issues with the game like syncing issues and random crashes every now and then. Other than that it's fun but if you don't have someone to play with you're just grinding quests to level up.
