FaceRig -> Immersive Character in mp games!

Hey guys

Today i found a program called: Face rig

This program changes the person in front of a webcam into a animated character(human,animal)

 

If you talk or move your character will talk and move with you.

The project is still under developement so it's not completely ready but it is pretty far.

FaceRig is awesome for streaming or suprising a friend on skype.

But if you think further it could be used for Real Time game character movement and interacting.

 

Because if you are playing a game with a friend and you can see your friends character moving his lips when he is talking it feels more immersive(at least i think so)

It works pretty badly, for example if anyone watches the painkiller already podcast fps russia aka fps kyle uses this program and its pretty bad.

Yea it's just really un polished, I'm excited to see what the guys over at Star Citizen are going to come up with, since webcam facial movements was one of their stretch goals quite a while ago.

Says in the video that if you're familiar with 3d modeling you can make your own, and you can even buy a license to sell your designs.  I'm sure a lot of people are going to be sharing them.

yea but i can hardly draw in ms paint, let alone do 3d modeling

I didn't mean you specifically but afaik the furry community shares nearly all their artwork so I'm sure you wouldn't have trouble finding what you want.

ehhh the ones that do modeling usually dont do it for free, im sure there will be a lot of designs from furs and such but i doubt many will be free. 1-2$ charge i could see though
