in fairness, general discussion in a lot of forums is for anything off topic, and off topic section does not exist. no need to elitist-punch new members like a dbag.

also, Learnix.

I've seen a clip of someone that change their windows bootloader to the LTT intro and it even includes sound. Sadly I can't find that video but I remember Linus mentioning it in a video/stream and he played the clip.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

LinOS

and it would be like this... Mac OS X 10.10 x Windows 7 x Unity and for the desktop it could be like this really beautiful picture of Niagara falls (Canada side) at night with some amazing effects and the layout would be similar to Elementary OS.

And the boot logo would be some fancy icon.

@LinusTech @Slick @nicklmg .-. We need this. Even if its just a slight change to SteamOS, Ubuntu, Manjaro, Mint, Ect... Just make it somehow!

hmm actually @ OP or Mods maybe move this to the programming section maybe LTT as a community could do this instead of just LMG...

Calling it anything with Linus would still confuse it with Linus Torvalds... This is also suggested million times and I think best reason why its not good idea was that there is already enough of distro's.

Distros? Screw that shit! Let's build an entire computer up from the HDL tapeouts!

We can design a RISC-V based processor, create the RAM ourselves, create flash memory ourselves, design a circuit board, 3D print a case for it, then write an OS from scratch with a BIL in case he wants to run Windows, and then do everything else.

I'll organize this if there's enough people that want to...I bet we can rally a few hundred open source hardware engineers and some code monkeys and have this cranked out by the end of the next decade!

Bu... But Linux is so much better and can look amazing.

Example, Ubuntu 14.04 with some unity tweaks.
