Alright since I started modding the BIOS versions of my GPUs more I take now the time to really dial them in step by step in single run mode. So far the STRIX accepted my modding good but I am sure I can push it harder. But base clock of 1457MHz isn´t that bad to start with. I also modded the stock speeds for base clock and boost and memory and changed the boost table. Voltage is at 1.28V at this point. I left my 5960X at 4.5GHz and 2400MHz RAM clock to generate a reference, so later results should be higher than this.

My CPU is fine now ;). But for me it seems to be that the STRIX is not the best case for OCing... I´m having a hard time to push it beyond that score.

Dump that Strix card for a Refrence card and bump the voltage to 1.45 and smile away.

Yeah you are right on that I can´t go over this with the STRIX much. Don´t get me wrong the STRIX is an awesome card, but not necessarily made for highend OCing... BIOS is shitty!

That´s pretty much it with this card and believe me when I say the BIOS is modded very hard. A standard STRIX would never get up that high.

It sucks because of the Voltage Controller that Asus uses is so restrictive. Which to me is annoying as hell. Even on their Matrix 980's if you hard mod the card for more voltage you will kill the memory if you aren't careful when booting the system.

Yeah this is a big draw back and you know the parts used on that PCB would easily support OCs much higher than they allow. By the end of it, it is my own business if I decide to use a custom BIOS and fry the chip or the VRAM...

With Asus's cards your more likely to kill the GPU Core vs the VRM's I have pushed a DCUII GTX 580 to 1.6v under TEC and the core was cracked and burnt after 4 runs of Firestrike Extreme. The VRM's though were 100% fine.

Honestly I bought this card initially for my HTPC but never put it in there other than testing. But since I´ll sell now my HTPC and keep my 5930K to build a HTPC (awesome isn´t it :D?) I try not to kill it because I want to built a serious machine for my living room and entertainment system. So I think I´ll do some fine tuning and keep this card as is. And in all reality a base clock of 1477MHz isn´t bad at all ;). Some people get that in boost haha :D.

EDIT: As expected 4K scales with my machine better than any other FS benchmark and so is this result pleasing me.

I will put this together when I am done in a spread sheet and show people what benefit they can achieve trough OverClocking with good sample cards and how big the influence is with modded BIOS version, though as every good magician I´ll not give away my BIOS ;) .

So after a long day of testing, modding, trial and error I can proudly say I found for all three cards the sweet spots. One of my reference cards is a total oc beast and boosts stable with 1618MHz and a crazy high RAM OC of 2068MHz @1.313V. The card would let me go higher but I run into thermal issues during benchmarks.

I'm pretty much DONE with the Kingpin bios. All it wants to do is crash the display driver. Naj modify my bios for me. Shoot me an PM and i'll email it to you since i cant attach it to this thread

The Kingpin BIOS is nothing I would use with Air Cooling, because it is so highly modified in all its features that you can even kill the VRM of a Classified under air. Modding BIOS for GPUs that you don´t have is dangerous, I have no possibility to test the BIOS. So all I could offer you I give you a so called 'no limits' BIOS of your own BIOS, but of course if you fry the chip I won´t be hold responsible.
