[Buildlog] Project "Toxic Lizard" (5960X / 3-Way-980 / Watercooled)

Introduction:

Hello there fellow builders and modders!

This will be my new Buildlog for a new overkill machine.

I'm building this rig for https://www.youtube.com/user/ungespielt

Watercooling tubing will be sleeved also, I'll make a tutorial for that too (In the tutorial section).

ALL cables will be custom made!

CPU: Intel Core i7-5960X

Mobo: MSI X99S XPower AC

RAM: 8x8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX Black

PSU: Corsair AX1500i (with Bitfenix extensions...sorry, dont have much time to spend on sleeving )

GPUs: 3x GTX 980

WC: All EKs Flagship products (CPU 2011 Elite Evo, GPUs Fullnickel + Acetal), Tubing will be most likely Tygon, Rads: HardwareLabs Nemesis GTX series

Case: Corsair 900D

Fans: 17x Noctua industrialPPC 120mm PWM

SSD: 2x Samsung 850 Pro 256gb (Raid 0)

HDD: 8TB Seagate Archive

Sound: Asus Xonar Essence STX II

I just ordered my Rampage V Extreme and Corsair RAM and two 850 pro SSDs, hopefully getting 5960X in a few weeks.

Well, judging from the stuff he's going to use/get I don't think he's going for senseable choices but rather "because he can" 

 

If I had the money, then I'd go for a 4 way SLI/XFire as well.

i'd totally think 2 titans Z's would be like sick.

OT: what monitors are you running with these cards? like i think 8gb's is enough for 4k surround. 6gb's wasn't enough for 4 titans and it crashed some games at 4k surround.

Overkill is what I want, it just pleases me to see every expansion slot occupied.

I also want to get into the top 20 of Firestrike Extreme with "only watercooling"

I had a similar idea, but with the white Asus board though and 2 gpu. But I changed my mind and decided to do case mod for my old z77 itx pc and try my luck for an Ares 3.

Good luck then, they are hard to come by

If you dont find one, just get a R9 295X2 with EK Fullcover Waterblock, they are basicly the same

Eh, it's not really noteworthy. I can't snag any good pics of it now, lightning isn't good at all. 

 

All it is is a black on black on black build with a 290x lightning in it
