ASRock X99 Extreme 11 Features 18 SATA 6 Gbps Ports

TOMPPIX

-snip-

to be fair it seems legit, but just a repost from somwhere else. the extreme 11 was known to be overdone for home rigs, but its nice for a server or something

But no SATA Express.... Wouldn't buy IMO.

Probably meant for lots of RAID 0

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P

Why soo many sata and no sata express?

No SATA Express... No get. And not only that, I like the fan on the one ASUS board @Lays used with his 4930k? since it looks better IMO.

There should be atleast 4 Sata express slots man.

And it is ugly.

Asrock? what are thinking?

Are you all forgetting m.2 slots can be turned into sata express....

who needs that much storage thats a lot of porn

Storage includes a mind boggling, 18 SATA III ports (full 6 Gbps), 10 of which are powered through the PCH and the renaming 8 through a separate SAS controller.

None, That is not my point mate. My point is that Sata express SSDs/HDDS will come out soon.

Yea but not now plus people who buy this might buy a bunch of sata drives once sata express comes out because sata drive prices might go down as they are trying to get rid of them.

I don't get why people complain that this board doesn't have Sata express ports, when the actual drives are no where to be found.

This board is more about massive storage, not fast. But even then, you have both two M.2 along with heaps of raid options.

ITT: people bitching about a board they won't buy.

It's not like ASRock stopped making every other board they have and only sell this. This is an option for those who need it, those who don't have other choices.

Boo fucking who it doesn't have SATA Express. How many drives have it again? If someone doesn't care about SATA E, they won't worry.

It's called having choices. It's what makes building a PC cool. Yet all of you basic children be whining like its the end of the world.

You're like the dude over in the iPhone 6 thread who was bitching about it not using USB Type C.

So you're saying that a standard is dying even though the latest iteration barely exists? Mmkay.

SATA 3 drives are going to be around for a while longer.

18sata connection but the motherboard itself still has a 20/30mm fan cooling the X99 + probably a PLX chip underneath, Asrock you could do better & your motherboards have gotten distasteful since Z87 & X79 Extreme 11.

Please become a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum, keep writing smug remarks & let us love you. Peace out.

what's with the obsession with sata express ?

the X99 chipset only allows 1 sata express for 2 sata connectors and it's not a major improvement over sata 3

sata express has the ability of using 10Gbps over the sata 3 which is 6Gbps. it doesnt sound like much but it will be a noticeable difference when it comes to the high end SSDs

Why are people complaining about no sata express. I'm yet to see a single sata express drive and I'm certain I won't for a good while. I applaud Asrock for trying to differentiate themselves from all the other manufacturers.

Can I just say something to all those people whinging that this board doesn't have SATA Express, this board has something better than sata express!!! Those ports that are Marked as SAS ports are SAS-3 12gbps running off a LSI 3008 SAS-3 controller!!!
