What drive should I get?

I'm thinking about upgrading my secondary drive to something of larger capacity. right now I have a external seagate 320gb drive I have been using for my movies/music/pictures. I want to get a drive that has atleast 2TB. I don't know what colour of WD hard drive I should get. I don't know if I should go internal or external. any help would be awesome. I was thinking of getting a 2TB WD Green or a Barracuda 2TB. I don't really know the differences

Green is hideously slow but will use less power and last longer. Get the Barracuda. Both drives will last longer then you need them to and do you really care about power consumption of one hard drive

Hey Drama. You've mentioned that you need to upgrade your secondary drive and that you are wondering between an external or internal one, so I assume that you are going to use it mainly for storage. If that's the case you can't go wrong with the WD Green. Its main purpose is secondary storage. It runs cool and quiet with less power consumption as some of the guys have mentioned. If I were you I'd go with an internal drive, but if you think you're going to need your data to be with you from time to time, you could take a look at the WD Elements Portable 2TB. It's nice simple and reliable. Here's a link for it: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=470

I have only owned two WD products ( a WD green and a My Book Elite?). Both were absolute dogs.  My opinion is get the Barracuda. I have four and every one has been a gem.

Sorry but even for media storage it is way too slow. Maybe it's just me, but I hate having to wait 5 minutes just to have the thumbnails load. Unless its a backup drive or a long term storage that you put on the shelf and look at once a year, get something better than green.
