What's the point in 3g, 4g or 5g when they cap it?

what's the point in getting better speed when we can only enjoy it for 1gb then the rest we get 2g connection speed on an "UNLIMITED data plan"? TT_TT

Well T-Mobile and Sprint has a truly unlimited 4g data plan, i don't care about the data, i care about the coverage and reliably of the service so that's why i have verizon.

Some people require speed for what they're doing.

I need it for when I bid on items on the go.

Even if I didn't, I wouldn't want to have to wait for 20 seconds to see a page load. That's just annoying and so early 2000.

 

There's also those who don't have throttling issues and pay the $ for the higher data caps.

Every company throttles you with an unlimited plan.

Bandwidth limits = how much you can use

3G, 4G etc = cellular data generations, newer is faster.

This means that, e.g on a 1GB plan with only 3G, you can only use that slower network, but with 4G, you can download faster, but not more.

Phone plans are different all around the world you know...

just because your 4g connection is limited doesnt mean that on some other company it is too...

There are plenty of 4g unlimited data plans, maybe just not in your area.

I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon. I do have to say that Verizon was much better in rural areas. But T-Mobile excels in Urban areas.

You must be confused. 4G is a data transfer type. 4GB is 4 GIGABYTES of data to use. 

Unlimited means that you have no data cap, meaning that you can use it as much and as often as you like.

Well that's too bad for you. Cause everyone else has the option for unlimited 4g or 5.

2g only gives you at a maximum of 128kbps while 3g is a maximum 2mbps, i'm asking for a real life experience on the 4G plan.

then get verizon but their plans are pricey but worth it because they are 4g lte speeds, coverage is great and the service is reliable

Well, it depends on your coverage area and your type of phone. 

But the best case scenario (Sony Xperia Z1S Connected to a 4G LTE tower with 5 bars) 150Mbs. 

I have the Z1 and when using a 4G LTE tower I get ~50Mbs

T-Mobile does have the fastest 4G LTE and most Urban coverage. Verizon has the best overall coverage.

And their network is a lot more crowded. The new T-Mobile LTE Boston network gets ~147Mbs.
