So they built a working Harddrive in Minecraft

Two such users have now revealed functioning hard drives built inside Minecraft that can read and write data. The first, created by Reddit and Imgur user smellystring can store 1KB of data, while a second, larger unit created by The0JJ can store 4KB of data.

 

So apparently the future plans are to create a computer within Minecraft :)

 

Really cool what Computer Scientists do in their free time :P

ive seen a "working" computer made already. had ram, a processing unit and io, but was so enormous it was too big for MC to process it all, so it didnt really work, but in theory it should have.

Interesting, I can see how they use the redstone to make logic gates and store data. Interesting to see how they get MC to render far enough for it all to work though.

lol xD I've already seen entire computers, graphics cards, CPUs, and even BITCOIN MINING ASICs (granted the hashrate was neglible) this does not impress; I've even designed some computers but man they're a headache.

Ok this is pretty damn cool. The amount of time some people dedicate to that game is equally insane.
