Why would you get a K-series CPU and choose a B85 motherboard? Also my memory is cheaper and a lot better. My graphics card is stronger (R9 280X).

sorry my eyes problem i don't see that is B85 Gonna change it fast

It's fine since it's ASUS. ASUS enabled OC'ing on B81, B85, H87 and H97 (http://www.techpowerup.com/202196/asus-enables-overclocking-on-h97-h87-b85-and-h81-series-motherboards.html) though I still recommend Z97.

I think it will come down to the builds I posted in post #21. I highly doubt you can do better than that for the price.

While the AMD build @ShadowCaptain posted in the OP is cheaper he can have a 4690k for £15 more which is WELL worth the price.

Yeah I will see what he wants to do! I do not know him well so I basically have no leverage on him, and he will ultimately have choice

I am just the man with the screwdriver

Thankyou though!

Still though I recommend going Z97 since that translates very well into broadwell.

i gonna take your GPU and your ram :P hahaha

His client wants AIO so I gave it.

Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Why? still runs cooler and quieter

plus the client would like one, but I reckon he should go without as not to compromise his budget

@Archangel1994

This is the build we ended up going for, turns out his old PC is a 2500k and GTX 580, and that he wanted this PC to use for the studio his band use.

But he also wants to play a bit of Morrowind/Skyrim etc so I just shoved a 750ti in, when he gets more money he is going to grab a better card, but we had £100 left so figured a basic GPU should be ok, he will keep his old rig for gaming as the 580 does what he needs
