£800 Build for a client

Ok so I have somebody asking me to build a PC for them (I did one for them last year and they need another)

They have a budget of £800 so I am going to have to stick to it as its not my money

The rig is mainly to be used for Gaming, but also for programs like cubase

I was going to go with a i5 4690k but the price ended too high so I have gone for an 8350 build

Any other ideas? The Red and black theme and AIO watercooler are a request from the client, I dont like the case but he wants a windowed case that fits with the black and red theme so this was all i could think of, also 250gb SSD minimum

UK prices please :3 the client has peripherals/monitor but needs an OS (not buying from G2A)

Also needs to have a minimum of 250gb SSD

This is so much more better bang for your buck as opposed to going an R9 280X, however it is slightly overbudget. The PSU leaves no headroom for going CF though and to get (almost) below budget you could even go to MSI Z97 PC MATE.

He wants both an AIO and a decent windowed case? Jeesh I get the feeling this guy does not know what he is talking about or what he is demanding. His budget of £800 is a bit too tight unless he is willing to sacrifice a decent lump of performance.

HAHA (wait consoles don't have lights) I was sat with him on the phone for an hour last night and he kept trying to remove things to fit these things in so I told him I would find him the best build that incorporated them

@SAV1OUR

I agree chaps and thanks for the idea, I will have to run some of the builds by him because he was very specific on how he wanted the aesthetics, which is annoying considering he only has £800

I will either try and convince him to go with a more compromising build to get a higher specifications or ask him if he can get another £100 on there if he wants the fancy bells and whistles

Getting both is proving tricky

I managed to make a build with a i5-4670k and a gtx770 with an 800quid budget for a client.
Red and black theme aswell.

i5 4670k

MSI z87 Gaming
MSI GTX 770
corsair 230t case (black with red fans)
8gb ram (red heatsink) cant remember the brand.
be quiet dark rock 2 cooler.
xfx 600w psu (loud as fuck under full load - do not recommend.)

All for around 800 quid.

This is the money I would suggest him to spend if he wants his AIO and windows (Black/blue color scheme). If he wants black/red he needs to spend a bit more.

Edit: Hang on, I can make black/red for about the same price, give me a moment. Also ignore the 212 in this build xD

If he can make the budget stretch far enough to get what he wants without sacrificing performance he should get this:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£164.34 @ Aria PC)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  (£63.00 @ Amazon UK)

His budget is not big enough to get what he wants really without sacrificing a big lump of performance. Basically I present 3 builds. The first for if he can finally ditch the idea of AIO needed and windowed case. The lower your budget is, the less you should look at looks and more at practicality and performance.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£164.34 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£87.56 @ Scan.co.uk)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (£72.00 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 290 4GB PCS+ Video Card  (£309.59 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case  (£38.64 @ Scan.co.uk)
Power Supply: Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  (£53.14 @ CCL Computers)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit)  (£72.77 @ Ebuyer)
Total: £918.81
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The second build conforms to his £800 budget if he cannot stretch it but he takes a big performance hit by doing so:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£164.34 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£87.56 @ Scan.co.uk)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (£72.00 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Dual-X Video Card  (£200.59 @ Aria PC)
Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case  (£38.64 @ Scan.co.uk)
Power Supply: Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  (£53.14 @ CCL Computers)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit)  (£72.77 @ Ebuyer)
Total: £809.81
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The third has his oh so beloved AIO and windows but then he takes another performance hit (unless he stretches his budget a bit):

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£126.00 @ Amazon UK)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  (£63.00 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£87.56 @ Scan.co.uk)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (£72.00 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Dual-X Video Card  (£200.59 @ Aria PC)
Case: Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case  (£36.23 @ Aria PC)
Power Supply: Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  (£53.14 @ CCL Computers)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit)  (£72.77 @ Ebuyer)
Total: £809.43
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

-snip- didn't see it was ASUS. Also my memory is cheaper and a lot better. My graphics card is stronger (R9 280X).

Still though I recommend going Z97 since that translates very well into broadwell.
