Here's my story: I took my AMD FX CPU out of the socket, and I dropped it. 3 pins on the cpu had bent. And this video literally saved my bacon because I was going to buy a new CPU because I thought I had permanently damaged the CPU. I was literally pulling my hair out until i came across this video from NCIXCom:

Now thanks to him, my AMD FX CPU works like a charm again :D

Thank you Linus!

i'm glad you managed to get it work.

what i don't like about AMD CPUs are those tiny pins! :(

yea, i'm getting an Intel cpu so hopefully I wont bend any pins in the socket :D :I

but I used a graphite mechanical pencil like he said and just bent it back. It was mostly very easy though.

Yeah he is good like that and that is why we are all here but don't give him too much praise, it goes to his head.

I fixed a 3G dongle with a method similar to this, however I used copper wire from a power cable as the pin was long gone.

There's a bent pin on my UP7 which restricts me to single channel ram and has effectively disabled the two ram slots closest to the CPU.

Thanks Obama Intel

Fixing a CPU with bent pins is actually really easy if you have a razor blade (I mean an actual razor. Not the company).

I used a graphite mechanical pencil like Linus said in the video and it was very easy.

Actually you can fix bent socket pins with using precision tools and having quite steady hands.

This awesome guy over at DIY Perks has done this video showing how to straighten bent CPU socket pins.

Well, if you got a PGA Pentium, sure. But I lost my pins in carpet.
