Don't call me a troll, I'm just saying that I feel all forms of censorship are morally wrong, and without purpose, which you have not actually provided to me.

You can't prove morals. Morals are an entirely personal thing based on your own view point of the world. No one can prove or disprove their views on morality or what is right or wrong. Very little in life is black and white, almost everything (including morality) exists in shades of grey. Viewing things just in terms of black and white is what is generally called being close minded.

I'm asking for a legitimate reason, and getting told I'm closed minded. Right.

 

I have yet to hear a reasonable argument for censorship of adult content, other than "its bad and dirty and wrong" which in my mind equates "I am ashamed of what I feel, and embarrassed about having to explain such things to my children"

 

Come up with a valid argument, instead of just insulting me by calling me closed minded, or a troll. Because I am neither, I am asking for a rational, logical argument.

First those aren't teen channels those are kid channels.(That's why Nickelodeon has the Kid's Choice Awards... )

Second why shouldn't they sponsor it because it's 18+??

So is Call Of Duty and Battlefield but nobody would make a big deal about that.

It's not like they're going to show porn adds it would just be their website name and I don't see problem with that.

I also do not believe most children are mature enough for adult content. Yeah, that's actually happening. Currently I've only see the 1 advert for RIFT.

I don't think Google owns YouPorn, but maybe YouPorn is using GoogleAds service so you get ads from the content you're most consuming on the internet - gaming for example.

have the ads or whatever, when they ask what it is, you say "something adults do" TA-DA. And I didn't say market it to them, that would be like, pokemon porn commercials. I'm simply saying don't block something out just because a kid might see it. In fact the forbidden nature of porn is exactly what leads most young males to discover it.

They teach it that early in some parts of the US as well, at least in my school they started teaching sex ed in 5th grade (though that was 18 years ago, so that may have changed). Our bodies adapted from a time when we were expected to have kids at 12-14 because we lived such shorter lives. As our society has changed and our lives have gotten longer our brains, or at least what we understand of them, has changed and we allow people to be kids longer. I should point out that I'm classifying everyone under the age of 18 as a kid here so it's a fairly broad term. I believe we should teach children about sex at an early age and continue to educate them as they grow up (though the way some of it is done these days leaves much to be desired, but that is an argument for another time). However I don't believe we need to sell sex to kids, of course I do think there are some exceptions to that. For teens it's kind of a weird issue. Quite frankly I don't see a point in trying to "protect" them from things they've already been exposed to quite a bit (especially older teens). We shouldn't encourage them to have sex but neither should we act like it is something to feel bad about and hide from.

I never said sell anything to them, I'm saying don't ban things from being on tv, or taking part in tournaments, because someone of a certain age might see it, that's all.

 

For instance, I'm not saying cartoon network, nickelodeon, or other kids channels should have porn commercials on them, but stuff like fox, comedy central, etc. should be allowed to put commercials from any company they wish, and a porn company would know not to put it on a kids channel because they wouldn't make any money off of it.
