YouPorn found a Team

mvitkun

AFAIK "gamning" community is mainly composed of teenage boys that like to spank the monkey 99% of their awake time, so i dont know.

That is very true, but I was talking about, like how they are starting to have gaming on ESPN3,Gaming is finally breaking to the mainstream. ESPN will not promote porn, so hitting the main stream for gaming, like football, baseball, basketball etc. Its not looking good for the gaming community, with sponsorship like "youporn" for a team.

Well they're not the most morally reprehensible organisation to ever sponser a team.

In fact, I'd say they're pretty high up in comparison.

And just like that, the Viagra sponsored Nascar team started to look serious by contrast.

Hard and fast, bro. Hard and fast. Go home or go all in. I wonder if any of those are their slogans. Anyway, considering the demographics of Nascar fans... Nah, not going there.

Well, this is okay, I guess. I remember this one time where an "adult star" was supposed to show up on a gaming convention or something, but she was kicked out because of her occupation. I think she was Swedish or something. Also, Sasha Grey has shown up in some horror and I think comedy films along with Saints Row III. That's a step forward instead of shaming people for their occupations. Imagine a janitor getting kicked out and shamed despite his good voice acting skills.

This is... interesting. I can really see an upcoming orgy video after each tournament, but you know, just saying. Might even get banned for saying that, but meh.

How many guys are at a tournament? Geez, guess GaymerX isn't the convention for LGBT-friendly gamers.  :P

Personally I think it's great that competitive gaming is beginning to be treated like a sport.

GAMING IS NOT A SPORT!

*sigh*

Do you have any factual evidence or proof to back up such a claim? Because that's what you're doing. You're claiming something without backing it up.

Please read this:

SportAccord uses the following criteria, determining that a sport should:[1]

  • have an element of competition
  • be in no way harmful to any living creature
  • not rely on equipment provided by a single supplier (excluding proprietary games such as arena football)
  • not rely on any "luck" element specifically designed into the sport

They also recognise that sport can be primarily physical (such as rugby or athletics), primarily mind (such as chess or go), predominantly motorised (such as Formula 1 or powerboating), primarily co-ordination (such as billiard sports), or primarily animal-supported (such as equestrian sport).[1]

SportAccord, for your information, is the defacto international standard for sports federations and associations. So despite mainstream acceptance still being lacking, eSports (gaming) most definitely meets the internationally recognized definition of sports.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport#Definition

The dictionary definition isn't consistent between the various dictionaries, but the definition from SportAccord is the "de facto" definition, as it is recognized by the worlds largest sports federations and organizations. Can you provide any counter evidence?
