Will "Project CARS" be the new Crysis of racing games?

Kukielka

I tried both, physics wise AC>pCars but graphic fidelity definitely goes to pCars. Both is a great games. GTX770/R9-280x is enough to max out pCars@1080p i think.

Eh, with the new GTX 800 series coming out, might as well get a 870 :P

Last time I checked, Nvidia cards were running this game a lot better than their AMD card counterparts. So if anyone is planning on building a rig to play this. Get Nvidia.

I prefer AC, it's is way more realistic and optimized for all hardwares!

Guys, in it's current state it is a bitch to run. With a 4670K and an R9-290 i can run it maxed out although some of the AA settings are broke and don't seem to work properly. I would say a GTX 770/ 280X would be able to run this maxed out. You do need a really strong CPU though like all racing games. I'm sure it will get better with optimizations to the game and drivers. I think it has just gone into beta stage or is just about to so these optimizations should be coming soon.

you think my dual 6950's will work fine? (2GB vRAM)

Haha AC is more realistic? Ubisoft do not make games more realistic, it fucks their graphics until they look like shitty console graphics! And AC is one of that fucked games :P

Erm, i would think so. I've not actually looked at vRAM usage but i think you should be ok. It's quite hard to tell at the minute because some of the AA setting appear to be broken E.G. 16x looks like 4x so it will be pointless measuring the vRAM usage in it's current state.

Those system requirements are lower than Watch_Dogs, so they're nothing special really.

It is quite interesting though how PC game system requirements went from a low-end Core2Duo and a Geforce 8000-series to Core2Quad and an HD5770.

Pretty sure he is talking about Assetto Corsa which is another racing sim. It has much better physics, the best currently out at the minute in my opinion.

It's good that it's demanding but by looking at the tiny minimums I think it might just scale really well.

I've been ignoring this game for a while and shrugging it off. I might give it a look, could play Assetto Corsa too. I love that racing game. It is really, really good.

Does it look like i need an upgrade??

I dont care about the graphics anymore past 2 years, all i want is a proper online racing game with TONS of upgrades and proper ranking system and reputation system and cash system so we can buy cars and upgrades and proper mechanics and many race types to master circuits will be most mainstream/drifters etc etc and no Pay2win if possible.

Also no idiotic NFs world aracde BS,full simulator style stuff i want where driver skill and car setup will make 99% of the race.

If what i just said is not achievable(but it is) then they shouldnt bother release anything it will suck...

I hope its buy to play with ingame shop for aesthetics, but with us requiring aero packs for cars i guess that wont help much.

If its free 2 play with pay2win we can pretty much stop talking about this game...

Oh shit i forgot about AC :D

no my friend it's not realistic. if you want realism rfactor is for you. It has pretty amazing physcs. It's real sim racing game like live for speed. This "beautifull" games like project cars and AC are not nearly as good as LFS or Rfactor :)

I played rFactor for a few years. It is outdated by today's standards and rFactor 2 is rubbish. AC is well regarded as being the best sim currently available.

These system requirements are quite high for a racing game.

Do you need to upgrade, to play this beauty?

Also what do you think about "Elite: Dangerous"?

Newp, ive got an 8350, and a superclocked GTX 760 with 2 gigs of vram. And 16 overall gigs of system ram. Tons of games are recommending the 8350 lately. and im loving it :3

I wouldn't call rF2 rubbish, it does have the best physics and FFB.

I agree the FFB is good but the physics are just broken in my opinion. A lot of the time it is like driving on ice. I know i'm not the only one that thinks this. Even the rF2 forums there people who are really disappointed about the lack of progress and icy feeling. Each to their own i guess.

NO!

you are wrong. AC is best sim currently available with nice graphics. But you forget that best sim != best graphics. That's why rfactor is the best sim ever! and yes it's old but you can mod it so graphics will be pretty good, and you can mod whole car as you wish, you can add your own racing streets, places, fuck it rfactor is THE BEST SIM EVER!!!!

A year or so ago maybe yes, but right now the physics is just amazing. Too bad it lack good contents and modders prefer AC more imo.
