The normal veloster is a joke, it is just an accent with a less practical body, the turbo at least has a nice amount of power for the size of the car but it is still an accent...

Definitely. I remember the Hyundai CEO hyping it up as the next CR-X. Good marketing I suppose, but once I test drove it all the lies were exposed. A "next-gen CR-X" or "budget GTI" it is most certainly not.

frankly im a truck guy but what is the budget you can get a whole lot for your money? waht are you looking for being practical or just speed because some look fast but are slow. like i have 2 trucks but i also have a AWD Charger RT pushing about 780 to the wheels but its big its a sleeper, or do you want a super flashy car

Mazda mx-5, you can take it on a track day and have fun w/ it, the others i dont know about

The brz/frs are both newer. They were designed for handling. They are awesome fun cars.

the next thought is what kind of payment are you trying get into.. because you have a 10k difference in the cars you have listed.. what you could do is look for a older car like a 02-07 STI/WRX and use the remainder of the money for mods or what i did with a 08 Charger and slammed 15 grand in mods on it

just so you know the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ are the same car but go with the Missile car (370z) but make sure its the nismo model since that is a true sports car

Subaru BRZ looks good: 2 L engine, 200 HP, RWD, no turbo - a sensible choice, but since you're going crazy ... go for a Nissan 370Z. Go big or go home! :)

That's what I'd do.

I've driven both the Nissan 370Z and the Subaru BRZ for quite some time. There's quite a big difference between those cars. The 370Z has a lot more power that the Subaru, but it weighs a lot more. Regarding interior i found the Nissan better, but that's a matter of taste. The subaru is a pure funcar, it's a pleasure to take this one on the curvy tracks, but i think as an everyday car or as a compromise the nissan does a better job, whilst not lacking fun as well. IMHO the nissan has better value as well.

I'd go for the Nissan, it's got a V6, which is very powerful for the car, and its interior are pretty nice. Also it looks the best out of any of the cars imho.

Unfortunately, I tried sitting in a 370z today... I don't fit. I'm 6'5", and my head sits on the roof... :(

I liked the Subaru BRZ, and didn't get to see the Scion FR-S (didn't have any in stock)

If you're looking at the br-z, then you could get the new WRX. It's around the same price as the br-z and it has a turbo.

You can count out the Miata too, then. :P I'm only 6'1" and still can't fit comfortably in a 370Z.

You might want to look into a Corvette, you need to be decently tall to even reach the gas pedal. :/

BRZ and get some decent tyres on it. if your not going to drive on twisty roads though, you should really get a wrx. mx5= your mums car (super its supercharged with a straight pipe coming out the centre :P) 370z=pornstar car, its also an 8/10 car so its pretty rubbish on the limit. the frs is a brz that will depreciate quicker.

Nissan Skyline R34 :D

he would have a job getting one of those!

wrll the mazda speed 3 is no normal sedan, but it is not on sale anymore. Have you consider a pony car?

The 4-cyl turbo version seems nice.

Only issue I have with a mustang, is I like the acceleration side of driving, and they make a lot of noise, but aren't super fast at getting up to speed.

The older boat anchor 4.0L V6 models had problems getting out of their own way, but the newer 3.7L V6 is fairly potent for the price. It's not a particularly sporty feeling car, but the acceleration is not bad - better than the FR-S/BRZ and Miata at least.

This is easy, the mazda mx-5 or the lotus exige

Personal i would take the lotus, i drove a supercharged one a few times and those things are freaking INSANE!

On a side note, you need some skills to keep em straith tough. They break loose verry easly

Let's agree to disagree

The 2015 might be worth waiting for, with the switch to an independent rear suspension and the addition of the turbo 2.3L @Probenja mentioned. Dealers aren't going to have the 2015 yet, but the 2014 V6 could at least give you an idea of the acceleration to expect.

Get the Scion FR-S.. My dad gots one and I really like it. I like the interior better than the Subaru and a more aggressive front end I find. It's a really nice car for the price, I would get it.
