4GB VRAM enough for 1440p screen?

Hey,

I have wondered a lot since i heard that 3gb isn't really enough to run games on ultra on higher resolutions than 1080p. Would 4gb vram be enough for 1440p gaming? Of course i mean the Asus swift monitor here with gtx 880.

I run 1440p on a 3GB 780ti no problem.

 

Shit I can even get 40fps 1080x5760 from a 1GB 5850 in Bioshock Infinite.

Yeah, you really don't start running in to a problem with even 3GB of VRAM until at least 4k. You'll be fine at 1440p and even 4k, as even there the difference between 3GB and 4GB is there in some titles, but not in all.

2GB. 2GB is not enough to run some games @1440p with AA.
