Also got this thing

it’s a tower stand, holds my main pc and the n100, and came with a pretty nice mouse mat (though I have a much different mousepad, it’s nice to have)

IMG_1115.thumb.jpeg.bf8f7e72014c2b0eb711c962f357ef32.jpeg

it was expensive in comparison to other options and was absolutely worth it, it feels super solid

I have the same thing I think. I use it to hold my Plex server and it doubles as a night stand.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

after seeing Linus`s video on the LG Wing, decided to go and get one out of curiosity.. next to it in the pic is an very old sharp phone aka the Wx T-92 for the FarEastone telco there.had step counter etc built into the phone already (basically an Japanese Sharp SX862 for Taiwan).. ..the 2nd pic , basically is a gag gift being sold at a booth in a Star ars event at the local shopping centre .. its depicting the  Mak kau hijau (your mom is green) .. something like a local insult or something ..those who from SE Asia region might understand the whole thing more

For $78 shipped. HTPC died, this is about the same footprint on the floor but MUCH easier to build in. I have the rest of the parts here to build something good enough. B550 with good media IO, Ryzen 4350G, RAM, GTX 1650 Super with a zero RPM idle fan, some PSU. I'll probably upgrade the CPU later on when 5000 series get cheaper. Playing media isn't CPU intensive but I like having more power on tap than I need just cause I build HTPC's so infrequently.

Got another one, forgot that my order wasn't fully delivered yet, because ordering books from Amazon is always a nightmare of figuring out from whom you actually buy something and many sellers are completely unwilling to ship to Switzerland in the first place. And yet, somehow, I still find more on that hellscape of human misery than local book shops, because most people here don't read old science fiction written in foreign languages, apparently.

CPU Upgrade: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D:

2023-12-20-00-25-13-339_1.thumb.jpg.fa0101c7d25d9bc10258de79dc29eec9.jpg

2023-12-20-00-17-10-575_1.thumb.jpg.8289320716aa8bdf8cfc30ad1a49f224.jpg

Got it while it's on the lowest price it has ever been for 277 CHF. Kinda crazy that the successor is cheaper than the predecessor, the 5800X, for which I paid 365 CHF back in September of 2021.

New CPU for my Mobo and a new Sticker for my Case. This is the way:

2023-12-20-00-20-10-836_1.thumb.jpg.e245a04374f80776a2ebbeed57142dd5.jpg

Out with the old:

2023-12-20-00-29-40-100.thumb.jpg.ca1fd954af90a79219fb4630f1d50caa.jpg

And in with the new:

2023-12-20-00-31-12-600.thumb.jpg.886118033f8a77e2dae3eadd4ddc880f.jpg

I had to take apart my Motherboard anyways because the CMOS Battery died so it's quite convenient to do a CPU Upgrade now.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

If I could just play Videogames and consume Cool Content all day long for the rest of my life, then that would be sick.

Soooooooo $3 shipping from Newegg eBay is UPS 2 day shipping and the case arrives today. HOW DOES NEWEGG EVEN MAKE MONEY ON THAT? Even at a heavy bulk discount there's no way that UPS 2 day cost them less than $3. I guess NewEgg screwed up in the customer favor for once!

Since the giant iguana had a head tube crack, I got a different frame

castellano fango

It’s a compliant soft tail, it has a top shock with about 1 inch of travel, and the chain stays are flat tempered aluminum that flex

problem, none of my other shit fits it, the head tube is way longer than the giants was, so even though I cut that fork tall with a full stack under it, it’s too short for this head tube

so I gotta get a whole new fork, luckily modern bootleg 26” air forks are cheap as dirt since everyone else stopped making 26” forks, the only remaining options are shenzen shenanigans

It sucks that 26” MTB is basically gone, the last bicycle I built was a 26” full rigid with discs and slicks, I am convinced that is the best commuter. Absolutely bombproof and I have a short inseam, so even a 27.5” gets funky geometry if it’s small enough for my legs.

They dont pay the same rates as the rest of us. They likely have a agreement in place with UPS. My employer ships hundreds of boxes out via UPS daily and that's just Detroit Warehouse, we have 12 other warehouses around the country. Rates are based on dimensions and weights. In our case our boxes have set weights. So a 26x15x12 box is 25lbs. I think if we put more weight in it we get charged a bit more. But we cut down boxes to save money, like every inch up shave off the box is a savings depending also on the weight. We offer free shipping on orders of $99 or more, excluding marble and plaques, most of our orders are probably $99 or more and we make a decent amount. I know during the busy season we can do 750,000 or over 1 million of revenue and a day.

Yeah but $3 for UPS 2 day shipping? The case was already clearance priced so their margin on it must have been pretty small already. I expected like a week of DHell shipping handing it off to USPS for another week to send in a circle around the country before delivery. 🤣
