[Rumor] Nvidia GTX 880 benchmarked in 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme

Kukielka

Yea guys, I know, I also do hate wccf, sometimes they wre right, sometimes they were not.

But IF(!) that turns out to be true, holy damn, there is a new sheriff in the town.

Here my detective work:

But these results are NOT the result of wccf, guess they deletet it, dammit.

I just knew who the fucking source would be...

Of course if someone asked me to get an authentic looking fake out. I would SLI some lower end cards so I get a score of 6k, then Photoshop the name and selectively blur the same out. That way, there would be no fake-ness about the score and the name (where tell tale signs could lie) would be conveniently blurred. But this guy probably didn’t do that and this benchmark run is probably legit.

He actually wrote that? More bullshit to add to their list he could have even done this himself of course..

This publication is a joke and this story is nothing more than clickbait, don't waste your time reading it like I did.

Too tired to write again so i am copy pasting a previous comment of mine

"

Which won't happen. If this holds true then the following will happen. 880 will be priced as a 780Ti. The 780Ti will be priced as a 780 and the 780 would be priced as a 770 and so on. This will never happen as it would mean price cuts across the board and NVIDIA hates price cuts more than anything.

I am having a really really hard time believing this score. If it were say more than a year since the 780Ti came out then yeah i could see it replacing the 700 gen but it's too soon for them to release a card that is cheaper and more powerful than their last gen flagship.

"

FYI VideoCardz reported this before WCCFTech

I hate them too, but they are known by nearly every manufacturer, if someone want to rumor something they can always go to wccf cause it is know to sometimes be true, and sometimes to suck. As a manufacturer you can then see reactions without ever giving viable information. Its like russian roulette :D

Select area around 8 in 780, paste over 7, blur image, done.

Fun thing is that a full-fledged Maxwell core is slower than a full-fledged Kepler core. This is a nope article.

It's the chance of BS that ruins it, I can't take them for gospel on anything important so I may as well not read it at all. :(

I also propose the rumor that it will only cost $5 and come with free set of slave children to do your laundry and wash your dishes.  It will also come in a boxed edition with ivory coated fan shroud and platinum plated chest medallion to wear as a status symbol and show everyone how cool and disco you are.

I'd buy that for a dollar.

I mean for a single card it is fast...but I was hoping much much faster than a 780 Ti @~1350Mhz.

the 800 series will focus on power saving, not improving in performance imo.

No, its faster for about 25-30%. It has lower core count. Or am I missing sum tin here?

If you are talking about compute power of whole processor, then yes, you are right. There is no gain going from kepler to maxwell for cuda renderig.

I really should run my KPEs at 1500 MHz and email these guys the benchmark screenshots with the card name blurred out to see if they will bite.

DO IT!

Edit: wait a second... I got a score of 12k in firestrike extreme...ill do it too! :D

I just got my 780ti KPE. :E

I am sure overclocked 780ti kpe will be faster than stock 880 but I'd still like the vram. :(

So probably gonna have my next card when 20nm cards come out.

Yeah I hate that damn website too. So let's stop posting about it okay? Also, they didn't do too well on the smudging. But who knows.
