Would this work (CONSOLE KILLER)

actually just a basic computer.

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750K Trinity Quad-Core 3.4GHz Socket FM2 100W

MOTHERBOARD: ASRock AM1H-ITX AM1 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 DC-In/ATX Power Input Mini ITX AMD Motherboard

STORAGE: WD 500G

MEMORY:G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

PSU: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS

Maybe a case for like 50 bucks if it needs airflow, atm i have a case but with a crappy fan.

Would this setup work (not gaming what so ever)

Thanks

You have the MOBO and CPU switched around. Other than that it's okay. But one problem is that the GPU on the athlon, isn't nearly as powerful as Console graphics.

interesting motherboard and cpu details.

Yes it would work as a computer, but would it kill a console? questionable.

Looks like you have a FM2 CPU with an AM1 mobo, you need a socket FM2 mobo. And that CPU doesn't have onboard graphics.

So you mention "console killer" and then say you're not going to play any games. Anyways,if you're not planning to add a discrete GPU in the future, then I would suggest getting an APU.

It won't work, you need a FM2 motherboard to use the Athlon X4, the AM1 motherboard you picked is not compatible.

A basic use PC is NOT a console killer, a console killer is a gaming PC around $300-600.

the op's doesn't have a gpu, only 4g of ram and an x4 processor.  Kinda guessing it'll struggle.

But if that's not the point then it doesn't really matter.

a 750k dosent have onboard graphics, so you would need a video card. And it wont fit in an AM1 board either. you need to use FM2 or FM2+

That motherboard and CPU are incompatible, you need an FM2/+ board also the 750K has no integrated graphics so you'd need a dedicated GPU.

first off, you need a fm2 motherboard. And that pc may make a good htpc, but it is highly lacking in gpu power for a gaming pc. I would even say more so than a new console.

Edit: actualy, that cpu does not have on board graphics. You need to add a gpu if you want it to work

Case: Phanteks Evolve X with ITX mount  cpu: Ryzen 3900X 4.35ghz all cores Motherboard: MSI X570 Unify gpu: EVGA 1070 SC  psu: Phanteks revolt x 1200W Memory: 64GB Kingston Hyper X oc'd to 3600mhz ssd: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1TB ITX System CPU: 4670k  Motherboard: some cheap asus h87 Ram: 16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz

The Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-S1 is a great pick, but it's Micro ATX (not mini ITX as you mentioned).

You will need a GPU in order to be able to use the monitor if you are using the Athlon X4.

Something like this will run basic games and power through light use easily.

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/m6Nrcf
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/m6Nrcf/by_merchant/

CPU: AMD A8-5600K 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-S1 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($44.69 @ Amazon)
Total: $134.68
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The AMD A8 includes very decent  integrated graphics

I would save a bit more and get the 7850k and a decent mobo.

Yes, any FM2 or FM2+ Socket motherboard works with the A8 5600k, which I think it's the right CPU for any basic PC, it packs a 3.6ghz quad core and a very decent integrated graphics solution at a very cheap price.

Yes, you can run it off a 250W PSU and still be fine.
