if it's just about the cost, it's the more expensive because i'll spend for transportation or mail to send the laptop to the retailer. so i really don't see any advantage of selling laptops will only half the RAM of it's maximum capacity.

My system: CPU: Intel i5 6500; Mobo: H110M-k; GPU: Nvidia GT 730; Memory: 16 GB; HDD: 2x 1TB HDD;

Why don't laptop manufacturers max out the RAM. I find it frustrating having to still buy another stick just to max it out.

take a quick youtube study or just read up on marketing and what a targeted audience is.

You don't need max ram and you don't need to send your laptop away to replace it either. In most cases the ram provided meets the needs of the targeted audience.

Also, why are you calling it motherboard ram? >_>

Well some do. Top most models have 16-32gb ram. But most people don't need it and they can buy more if need it. If only you knew how much Dell and co get when they sell their overpriced branded SODIMMs to business users.

Most people care about saving £50 on a Laptop more than having more than 25 chrome tabs open.
