This is going to receive hate... Much hate...

SSOB

Alienware's hardware isn't necessarily bad it's that they convince people you need a $6000 PC with a six-core i7, 32GB or RAM and quad titans to game.

I agree. I paid 1200$ for mine, which cost around 4 or 5k new I think. It was worth it for me, I will never buy new from them. But It's hard to call myself an expert and own this thing. I get looks.

muh specs

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

To my knowledge, Alienware and Sager/Clevo are the only brands that really offer high end GPUs in SLI, so in that case, Alienware seems like a perfectly fine purchase. Fear not!

Asus has a laptop like that, as does MSI.

I don't get why people hate so much, sure they're overpriced and a lot of the people buying them are ignorant about hardware but they're industrial design and build quality is great and OS is just personal preference just like how some people don't like windows 8 and some do. IMO Alienware and BestBuy should get WAAAY more hate than Apple. I hate Apple as a company but I think a small Apple sub forum would be good for are forum.

Neither side is too rational and it's quite disruptive to the rest of the forums, it's coming to the point that merely mentioning "Apple" in either a positive or negative light will derail any and all topics. I tend to side with the "hate" side a bit more since it's pretty difficult from Apple enthusiasts to find their way into this community when Linus himself is pretty sincere in his distaste for Apple so I do tend to think they're active trolls, however it's more fair to just contain them within a single place and way easier to just moderate. Eventually serious Apple discussion can occur (after all the undesirable people just looking for fights are dealt with) and it would immediately clean up the forums for the rest of us that are mostly uninterested in the subject and quite tired of it.

You side with hate because it's the majority and it's hard for Apple enthusiasts to gain acceptance?

Asus has a laptop like that, as does MSI.

Which laptops are those? I know there was an MSI one that SLI'd two 765M's, but I wasn't aware of one for the 800 series. I was more referring to brands that would SLI two 880M's or whatever flagship mobile GPU there was.

In the future, replacing the image in your quote with *snip* or something like that can be helpful, and a lot easier on my mouse scroll wheel

This discussion has been had at least once already.

One case which I remember is this one: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/58848-mac-subforum/

Thread ended up getting locked because it was such a clusterfuck. And as you can see, we still don't have a mac sub-forum, so there probably will not be one even after this thread.

I thought I saw it at one point. Maybe not.
