Last night at RTX 2014 in Austin, fans got a crack at Halo 2: Anniversary Edition, the remaster of Bungie’s 10-year-old game to be included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection this fall. Among other tidbits gleaned from the presentation is the inclusion of a gun-mounted Mongoose vehicle, lovingly referred to as the “Gungoose.”

Yah...not gonna happen. 

If it does it will only work on windows 8 to honor the original only working on vista. 

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

yea the mongoose was always a kind of useless vehicle in battle since it didn't have enough control to simply run people over with it.

Since they want to keep the games as authentic as much as it is possible maybe it still will only work on Vista.

It'll still work on 7 and 8. 

Cause they've copy/pasted the same shit for ages. 

That's why most vista drivers work on 7 and 8 and other way around.

My mind is dirty but I have no idea where yours went with this one.

Mongoose wasn't in Halo 2....

 

They are bringing stuff from the later games into the Anniversary/Remastered maps in Halo 2, just for the hell of it to see how things work. 

 

Note that the Gungoose and other additions don't show up normally in the other maps, just the remastered ones; so this won't screw up the gameplay/gunplay in the normal game. 

 

 

 

But the Gungoose, and any vehicle for that matter, are incapable of reaching the awesomeness that is the Mako, as shown below

The mako was seriously the worst driving gameplay I can possibly think of... It drove like shit, and didn't follow proper physics (For example, you fly through the air and twist so your front is facing 45 degrees away from your directional velocity... then AUTOMAGICALLY upon hitting the ground you spring in the direction your facing without any sliding or drifting. Like fuck, does the Mako have Black Hole tires to get that kind of ridiculous grip?

 

The concept was badass, but delivery was crap. If they basically took the way the Warthog handled from HALO and just added on jump-jets and a driver controllable turret, that would've been kickass.
