Not really, if you want more noise and heat, then sure.

Why are you even considering the WD. The Seagate has twice the capacity for the same price.

Exactly.

I wouldn't say the minimal speed increase you'd see would be worth it.

Go for the 2tb. Then when you can afford a sizable SSD, you'll have enough space for it to make sense as a media drive.

I already have an ssd and a 3tb external drive for video  :)

Why are you even considering the WD. The Seagate has twice the capacity for the same price.

For the simple fact it had 5 year warranty and I thought they were a bit faster?

I am looking at 2 TB or more, but still can't decide.
WD (black / red) or Seagate Barracuda ?

As the hard drive has high capacity, so huge amount of data will be stored there, reliability is my main concern.

Depends how much you value the warrenty, last time I loked the Seagate only had 1 year on its 2TB drives. WD will probably last longer

Actually warranty is not, what i fear about.
I fear about data lot more. So i would rather have HDD which will last 10 yrs than HDD with 10 year warranty, which will break every month.

I hope you get the point.

Go for the Seagate, it's a higher capacity.
